Add streaming capability directly from your V-RAPTOR XL cinema camera with this Connect Module Pack from RED. This turnkey hardware kit includes a compact module that installs onto the battery plate of your V-RAPTOR XL using a V-lock mount and inserts a connector into the CFexpress slot, creating a high-speed data connection. The device requires the purchase of a separate license to enable live streaming in your V-RAPTOR XL.
The Connect module allows you to output your video via a 10Gb single-mode optical fiber connector. It supports live streaming of up to 8K120 and 4K240 R3D video as well as genlock and PTP timecode sync between cameras. The module features a cable clamp to protect your fiber cables, and it requires DC input for powering both the module and the camera.

Unlock 8K Cinematic Streaming
The formfitting module connects to your V-RAPTOR OR V-RAPTOR XL camera to unlock 8K live cinematic streaming. The module attaches securely to the back of your camera via the V-lock battery mechanism and CFexpress media slot to create a high-speed data connection via fiber optic cable for live streaming, remote recording, PTP sync, and other capabilities.

8K Broadcast and Streaming
The Connect features the highest image quality and most cost-effective setup compared to existing hardware ecosystems. Stream at any resolution and frame rate up to 8K120.
Real-Time XR
Stream up to 8K120 content straight from the camera to any end device. The increased resolution enhances the visual experience, especially when viewed in a virtual reality environment.
Volumetric Capture
Take advantage of the scalable nature of the RED Connect system and create a multicamera, high-resolution volumetric capture rig. Genlock-level PTP sync allows for the multicamera rig to be in perfect sync over the same IP network.
Virtual Production
Simplify the setup of cameras by reducing SDI cables, TC/Gen boxes, and others to a single cable to reduce points of failure.
Remote Operations
Save hours and days of post-production work by having the data ready for access as soon as you finish recording. Also, have peace of mind by building redundancy into the file storage system.
Workflow Requirements
Materials Required
- V-RAPTOR or V-RAPTOR XL with RED Connect license
- RED Connect module
- LC duplex single-mode fiber
- 10G Base-T or faster network switch (optional, must support 10 Gb/s connections)
- Camera Control Unit (CCU) with RED Connect app (included with the purchase of the RED Connect license)
CCU Design
The CCU must handle the bandwidth of the incoming data stream and have GPUS/DPUS/FPGAS capable of decompressing and debayering the R3D data with minimal latency. The RED Connect app is a service that runs in the background to accept and finalize the R3D.
