Capture clear, natural sounding speech and dialog with the Polsen PL-5-MKII. This lavalier microphone features a miniature 0.14" head that's easy to conceal for video, live theater, and presentation applications where a hands-free solution is required. A replacement microphone for Polsen's ULW-16 wireless system, the PL-5-MKII is also compatible with other wireless transmitters equipped with a standard 3.5mm microphone input as well as recording devices that have a 3.5mm input with plug-in power. This second-generation model offers an upgraded microphone capsule and improved shielding for wider compatibility with today's most popular digital wireless microphone systems.
The mic's omnidirectional polar pattern picks up sound from all directions around the capsule, making it easy to place on talent and allowing for natural head movement when shooting news and dialog or addressing an audience. In addition, the omnidirectional polar pattern is less susceptible to wind noise and vocal plosives (pops) than a directional microphone. The electret-condenser capsule can handle up to 135 dB of volume, providing plenty of headroom for loud dialog and passionate performances.
