Description:
The DRV8825 stepper motor driver bracket is the break out board for the TI DRV8825 microstepping bipolar stepper motor driver. The module's pins and interfaces are almost identical to our A4988 stepper motor driver board, so it can be used as a higher performance plug-in replacement for those boards in many applications.
The DRV8825 features adjustable current limiting, overcurrent and overtemperature protection and six microstep resolutions (down to 1/32 steps). It operates from 8.2 - 45 V and can deliver up to about 1.5 A per phase without the need for a heat sink or forced airflow (each coil rated up to 2.2 A with sufficient additional cooling).
Specifications:
- Simple step and direction control interface
- Six different step resolutions: full step, half step, 1/4 step, 1/8 step, 1/16 step and 1/32 step
- Adjustable current control allows you to set the maximum current output using a potentiometer, allowing you to use a voltage higher than the rated voltage of the stepper motor for higher step rates
- The maximum supply voltage is 45V.
- Built-in voltage regulator (no external logic voltage supply required)
- Can be connected directly to 3.3V and 5V systems
- Thermal shutdown, overcurrent shutdown and undervoltage lockout
- Short circuit to ground and short circuit protection
- 4 layers of 2 ounce copper PCB for improved heat dissipation
- solderable ground pad exposed under the driver IC at the bottom of the PCB
- Module size, pinout and interface match most of our A4988 stepper motor drive bays
